Happy Birthday to my wonderful little man!

We celebrated Max's birthday this weekend, and while it wasn't quite what we had planned, it turned out to be pretty fun.  Max got sick with a fever on Thursday, and stayed home sick on Friday.  By Saturday, the day his party was planned, he still had a fever and hadn't gotten any sleep for 2 nights.  So, Saturday morning, we gave him some Ibuprofen and his presents and he cheered right up :)
He was happy playing with his new toys, so even though we already cancelled his party, Colin and I decided to take him to the pumpkin farm (where the party was supposed to be) by ourselves.

The look on his face in this picture pretty much says how the trip went...

Although, we did manage to get about 8 seconds worth of fun and smiles, all of which we caught on camera...

Unfortunately, the rest of the time was tears and tantrums - Max's way of telling us we shouldn't try to force birthday fun when a 2-year old is feeling terrible.

When we got home, we even tried birthday cake, which got us a brief smile...
But Max quickly revealed how he truly felt about the cake and then just to emphasize his point, he then refused to nap for the rest of the day.

The day finished at 6:15pm when he went to bed, and I quickly followed at 8pm.  Luckily, we both got a good nights' sleep and were ready to try again on Sunday.  Max was feeling much better on Sunday, so we had friends over for dinner and birthday cake...

And of course, more presents!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX!!!
