This was the first year we have been in the US for the 4th of July since Max was born, so we had to make sure he experienced all of the traditions :) And since we haven't been here for 3 years, we had to actually start some traditions. So, we found a local festival, where Max was most impressed by the rides :)
We also had brunch at Carrie and Elliott's house and Max and Elliott had fun picking raspberries.
And then we made sure he had all of the traditional 4th of July food...WATERMELON!!!
And of course, hotdogs (although, I'm not sure vegetarian hotdogs really count, but he's still too young to notice :) and baked beans...
We didn't let him stay up for fireworks, which actually turned out in our favor since they were all cancelled due to rain, but next year we'll have to give the fireworks a try. Hopefully he'll like them as much as he loved Christmas lights for the first time! :)
